Montreux Golf & Country Club - Reno, Nevada
Montreux Golf & Country Club"> is an ultra-private Jack Nicklaus golf course that's changed the way Reno looks at golf real estate, and maybe golf in general.
This up-and-down mountain course is the home of the PGA Tour's second-tier Reno Tahoe Open, and to mini-mansions that cost a minimum of $1.5 million. The country club has a limit of 435 members and they're treated to a course Nicklaus ranks among his five best designs. There are a number of forced carries, one on a par 3 that requires clearing a canyon of treetops. The fairways are narrow and lined by towering trees, and Mount Rose (elevation 11,000 feet) looms overhead.
