Old-school Sin City meets traditional golf at Las Vegas Golf Club
LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas Golf Club combines old-school Vegas with traditional golf. The oldest course in the valley and the closest to downtown, the club has earned its reputation as one of the best golf values in the area.
Las Vegas Golf Club is a player-friendly course with numerous mature cottonwood and pine trees accenting wide and inviting fairways. Looking for a challenge? The 30 greenside bunkers see to that, as do the friendly green complexes with slight degrees in undulation.
Come out scoring with the first three holes, including the drivable 311-yard, par-4 first. The course also includes four short par 5s -- between 458 and 503 yards -- and two tricky par 3s that keep players honest. The sixth is 189 yards, with two large bunkers in front. The 211-yard 17th features two prominent front bunkers guarding the smallish green.
Established in 1938, the club's facilities were recently remodeled with more than $5 million in improvements. In addition to course upgrades, a new clubhouse was added. The changes add to Las Vegas Golf Club's reputation as a relaxing, forgiving round.
