Genoa Lakes Golf Club - Reno / Lake Tahoe

Genoa Lakes Golf Club in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area, is liable to drown an unsuspecting hacker. Water comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes, although the golf course is not quite as penalizing as it looks on the scorecard.

This is the high-end golf course in the Carson Valley, and a lot of civilization has found its way out here since Genoa Lakes opened in 1993. There's as much real estate as there is water. But there's also a view straight across a wire fence into a cow pasture, deer running around and hawks circling overhead. It's not a spectacular play, but there are dashes of natural magic and the very nice finishing run.
