Walters Golf to host second annual Walters Cup Pro-Am/Poker Tournament in Las Vegas
In conjunction with the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino, Walters Golf is holding the Second Annual Walters Cup Pro-Am/Poker Tournament Nov. 4-8 in Las Vegas.
The event carries a payout of $10,000 for the pro-am and up to $20,000 for the poker tournament, plus a gift bag worth $350. It follows on the heels of the highly successful inaugural Walters Cup Pro-Am/Poker Tournament.
"I've participated and hosted hundreds of these events during my career, and I can honestly tell you that it was the finest run golf event I have ever participated in," PGA Professional Johnny La Ponzina said following last year's event. "From the welcome gift bag to the three great golf courses we played, from the boxed lunches to the awards banquet, this was a first class event."
The tournament is limited to the first 25 paid teams, and the entry fee is $1,995 per amateur. A deposit of $3,990 secures a team's entry, with the final payment due Sept. 14.
All pros will receive a complimentary trip, excluding airfare, and an appearance fee for collection of their team's total entry fee.
The package includes four nights at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino and three rounds of golf at Stallion Mountain Country Club, Royal Links Golf Club and Bali Hai Golf Course. The shotgun starts will be at 9 a.m. every day.
Following last year's tournament, Eric Lyman, an Arizona-based PGA Professional, wrote, "I just wanted to thank [Walters Golf] on a job well done. You know how run a first class golf tournament and everything went great. My team had a great time and we are all looking forward to coming back."
Players can purchase practice rounds at the three courses for a 20 percent discount the weekend prior to the event.
Participants will also receive transportation to and from the golf courses on luxury mini coaches provided by Walters Golf and be treated to a daily breakfast.
