"There is no question that the solution to baggage hassles while on vacation are found outside of the airport system. Our service is designed to help you get your clubs, skis, bike, or whatever, to your destination. We provide a travel concierge 24 hours a day to help in your arrangements. Sports Express is committed to eliminating the hassle of misdirected baggage," explained Mike Smedley of Sports Express.
A recent trip of mine proved that this concept has merit. I was off to Boston for a brief trip and was challenged to a match at a private club during my stay. I had only planned to take a carry-on bag and my laptop and the thought of dragging 40 pounds of clubs packed in their cumbersome plastic case was far from appealing. But from the Sports Express's website, I learned how to book my baggage delivery direct through them.
Sports Express creates a travel itinerary where you determine what day you want your bags delivered to your destination and when they should be picked up. After filling out the itinerary, I just left my bags for Fed Ex to handle. The bags were picked up at my door step and I was free to cruise through the airport system with just my carry on bags, which allowed me to arrive at the airport just an hour early of my flight.
Upon my arrival in Boston a friend greeted me and with just two bags we quickly left the airport without having to deal with the dreaded luggage carousel as my golf clubs were on their way to Brae Burn Country Club. Two days later when I went to play there, my clubs were at the pro shop awaiting my arrival. This was too easy.
After my stay Fedex again appeared at my hotel and took my bags off to be delivered back at my front porch after I arrived home. I think my golf clubs had as relaxing a trip as I did, as they never even once thought that they would end up at a luggage carousel in Des Moines, Iowa by mistake.
Things are going to change even more in the airports in the next few months. By December 31, all baggage will be sent through screening machines and the airline industry is predicting that passengers will need to arrive three hours earlier for their flights. Figuring how to handle you bags out of the airport loop will be even more advantageous. Just think of your one-week trip to Arizona and how nice it would be to have you clubs waiting for you on your golf cart when you arrive for your first tee time instead of lugging them off to the rental car lot at the airport.
Sports Express also handles various sporting equipment with the same ease, such as skis and ski boots, bicycles, scuba gear, and surfboards. Through their booking, you can track your baggage as it heads on its journey. It is easy, convenient, and when factored against the time saved, it is cost efficient. This is one traveling golfer that says that Sports Express is the way to go.
