Summer ParAm: Welcome to Las Vegas tournament golf, Bali Hai style
LAS VEGAS -- This tournament's got it all: It's held at the luxurious Bali Hai Golf Club on the south end of the strip. If that's not enough, the event also features the stunning Parmates, the course's beautiful female caddies. There's a suite involved. There are free drinks, a party and prizes. And much more.
Welcome to the fourth Summer ParAm.
The tournament, set for Aug. 9, 2014, is one of those events golfers usually only dream about: Two nights in a suite at the Venetian Resort and Casino, limo-bus transportation to and from Bali Hai for the tournament, a Parmate for each foursome, on-course massages from Canyon Ranch Spa Club, post-tournament prize giveaway party, complimentary drinks, a $50 free-bet voucher from the Venetian and admission into Tao Beach on Sunday.
And there's more. Intrigued? You should be. But you better act fast as they are expecting a record turnout for golfers, and Parmates, of course.
"We are excited for this year's ParAm as it will be, by far, the biggest and most exciting ParAm to date," said Josh Hill, corporate vice president of marketing for Walters Golf in Las Vegas.
They have thought of everything -- including a great price: $499 per player, single occupancy and $389 per player, double occupancy. Golf only is also available for just $249.
The list of primary sponsors is top-shelf: The Venetian, Canyon Ranch Spa Club, Callaway, Maverick Helicopters, Sailor Jerry, Pole Position, TAO Asian Bistro & Nightclub, and TAO Beach.
While the action off the course promises to be an exciting two days, the golf on the course will be over the top. Players will take part in a 1 p.m. scramble at nationally ranked Bali Hai Golf Club, a Schmidt-Curley design. The 7,002-yard layout is immaculate and features thousands of palm trees, crystal blue ponds, brilliant white-sand bunkers, along with streams and fountains. It's a course that's as beautiful as it is challenging.
The final three-hole stretch, one of the best in Vegas, includes a short par 3 with an island green and two PGA Tour-length par 4s. These three holes will test players' shot-making skills as well as their nerves.
Play with a Parmate
The tournament's name is a play on words. The ParAm, rather than a pro-am, will have a Parmate joining each group for the round. These women are not only gorgeous, they know their way around the course and will help out the group -- from raking bunkers to tending flags to filling divots to making sure your drink is never empty. There will also be a Parmate auction prior to the round, so groups can bid on which Parmate they'd like to accompany them on the round.
"With well over 20 tournament sponsors, upwards of $30,000 in prizes and giveaways, 60 projected Parmates on the course and the Venetian as the host hotel, we expect this event to sell out and do so quickly," Hill said.
