Si Redd's Oasis Resort Hotel / Casino / Spa
MESQUITE, NV - My golfing partner and I recently had the opportunity to shed our snow parkas and play golf in the warm desert climate of Mesquite, Nevada. While in Mesquite, we stayed at Si Redd's Oasis Resort, and were hosted by Elaine Bisignano, Assistant Director of Marketing for the resort. We had the honor to meet Alan Green, president of the company, and his lovely wife Sherry, who is the daughter of the owner, Si Redd. In a few hours of pleasant conversation we were able to learn a lot of the history about the resort and the beginnings of the tourist industry in Mesquite.
Si Redd's Oasis Resort Casino and spa is conveniently located in Mesquite, Nev., at exit 120 off of Interstate 15. Mesquite is only one hour north of Las Vegas, making it a destination spot for those who enjoy a smaller version of Las Vegas. Just north of Mesquite over the Utah border, a vacationer can find many National Parks, skiing in winter, and year round mountain biking.
The oasis resort is truly a vacation destination for families, couples, and singles. The hotel offers 1,002 deluxe rooms and suites with mountain and pool views. We found the rooms to be spacious and very well taken care of. The hotel offers deluxe rooms, suites, and super suites, all with very affordable prices.
We found the staff at the hotel to be very courteous, and helpful meeting all of our needs. Hotel guests have access to lighted tennis courts, three hot tubs, three putting greens, six swimming pools, and a complete fitness center. For the families with children, the resort offers a go cart track, and a Family Fun Center complete with arcades. The casino at the Oasis Resort is open 24 hours a day with live entertainment nightly and weekend dancing.
We were fortunate enough to enjoy the ambiance of the world class " Spa at the Oasis". Before or after a round of golf, this is truly a wonderful experience. The Spa at the oasis offers a variety of services, each with its own unique benefits, all performed by trained professionals. This was my first experience in a resort, and I highly recommend it for men and women. Guys, treat your wives and yourselves to a relaxing experience. Let the daily stress of your life float away, your golf will be better for it.
I'm a person who really enjoys good food and beverage, especially when on vacation. Si Redd's Oasis Resort features four restaurants for your dining experience. The Paradise Buffet located upstairs in the casino, is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I found the cuisine in the Paradise Buffet to not be typical resort buffet food. The cuisine had great flavors, was presented elegantly, and was in abundance. There is a theme cuisine every night, which keeps things original for those staying many days. The Paradise buffet was voted locally "the best buffet in Mesquite".
The Garden Room Coffee Shop is a cafe style restaurant with a casual atmosphere which offers everything from pancakes and eggs for breakfast to prime rib and shrimp for dinner. This restaurant is open 24 hours a day for those folks with the late night munchies. Another option for your dining pleasure is the Pizza Pub which is located in the casino's sports bar. You can enjoy freshly baked pizza, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. The sports bar offers 24 televisions with a big screen TV for watching all your sporting events.
On one of our nights at the Oasis resort we opted to dine at the Redd Room Steakhouse. This proved to be an excellent choice on our part. This restaurant is the crown jewel of dining in the Mesquite area. The atmosphere is elegant, yet friendly, with an exquisite menu. The cuisine offers items such as oystersRockefeller and escargot for appetizers, with steaks, seafood, and fantasticdaily specials. The wine list is very extensive for those who choose totickle their palate. As in all the restaurants at the resort, the service was impeccable, and knowledgeable of their trade. If you happen to dine at the Redd Room Steakhouse, you must try the tableside presentation of Bananas Foster. If you're looking to treat yourself to an incredible dining experience, the Redd Room Steakhouse should be your choice.
The Oasis resort also offers a perfect location for corporate seminars and retreats. The resort has over 10,000 square feet of convention space, which accommodate small meetings and large seminars. They offer in-house catering and all your needs for professional conventions. They also offer a ballroom or outside garden reception area for those who would wish to have a wedding designed and catered by the staff at the Oasis. They have many beautiful locations to choose from so that you can pick the perfect setting for your wedding and reception.
The Oasis resort also offers a Ranch and Gun Club, which offers excitement and fun for the sporting enthusiast. Test your shooting skills at the track, skeet, and sporting clays fields. The 10 station course launches clay pigeons in the field, along the lakes sides, high, low, and crossing to simulate common field hunting situations. You can enjoy a scenic horseback ride, a hayride, or a rodeo, followed by a Western-style barbecue. Full and half-day ATV tours through the mountains of Utah are also available to the hotel guests.
54 holes of world-class golf is offered by the Oasis resort. Accompanying this article you'll find reviews of the Palms and Oasis golf courses. On this trip we were unable to play the night hole Vistas golf course, since we ran out of time enjoying all the other amenities at the Oasis resort. There are many getaway packages available while staying at the resort. The staff at the Oasis resort will tailor a vacation package that fits the need for you and your family.
Si Redd's Oasis Resort Hotel/Casino/Spa in Mesquite Nevada is a great year round vacation spot for all who enjoy playing and relaxing. I was very impressed with the professional staff and the cleanliness of all aspects of the resort.
