The Legacy Golf Club
is one of Nevada’s finest

HENDERSON, NV-- Without a doubt, The Legacy Golf Club is a masterpiece.

Despite a week of constant rain in Southern Nevada, The Legacy looked in fine shape over the weekend.

The Legacy, located in Henderson - the nation’s fastest growing city, adjacent to Las Vegas - is one of the top courses in Nevada, according to several publications.

The par-72, 7,233-yard course was voted the best course in Nevada by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the No. 1 public course in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Business Press and one of the top 10 courses in Nevada by Golf Digest.

So, what makes The Legacy such a stunning course?

Take your pick.

This nationally acclaimed facility is complete with rugged lava gathering, multiple tier fairways and large undulating greens. There is also contrasting desert flora and native grasses.

The course is highlighted by “The Devil’s Triangle,” which is a series of three challenging holes on the back nine - Nos.11-13 - that can make or break your round.

Hole No. 10, for example, is nicknamed “The Suits”. This 193-yard, par-3 provides the most distinctive tee boxes in the area, according to course officials. Golfers get the opportunity to select to tee off from either a diamond, heart, club or spade shaped tee box.

Talk about Las Vegas cheese. But if you are a tourist, this perfectly fits the stereotype.

Once you pick your tee box, it’s time to pull a short iron out of your bag with your eyes focused on the three-tiered green - protected by native desert as well as grass and sand bunkers.

Let’s just say golfers need to play their cards right if they want to survive this trio of holes.

This links-style course features rolling terrain, well bunkered and lighting fast elevated greens to go along with slopping fairways that wind through desert areas.

This Arthur Hills course was completed in 1989 and managed by OB Sports. The course is overseeded in the winter with hybrid perennial Ryegrass.

The club annually plays host to United States Open Qualifying and American Junior Golf Association tournaments, providing this tested players with the ultimate test, an opportunity to play in The Open or shine on the junior level.

The Legacy also provides golfers with several extra amenities. They include: golf shop, complete practice facility - with driving range, putting green and chipping area - and customized instructional programs.
