Spanish Trail Golf Club - Canyon/Lakes

Las Vegas, Nevada | 18 holes | Traditional | Par: 72 | 7116 yards

Spanish Trail Golf & Country Club offers three expertly designed nines that can be played in three different 18-hole combinations, providing plenty of variety. The Canyon/Lakes Course combines the longest and most challenging nine with a scenic, water-filled nine.

The Canyon/Lakes Course at the Spanish Trail Golf & Country Club is one of three 18-hole courses at the club. Each golf course is comprised of two individual nines with a total of three at the club. Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed all 27 holes. Characteristic of many the designer's courses, priority is placed on accurate approach shots due to the fast and undulating greens. The Canyon nine is the longest and most challenging of the three nines. This golf course gets its name from its sloping fairways and greens. The last three holes on this course will test even the most skilled golfers.  The second nine, the Lakes Course, is aptly named as water comes into play on six holes. On five of those six holes, there is water bordering the greensides. There are also many forced carriers over water for additional challenge. The signature hole of the Lakes Course is the third, which is a scenic par 3 that requires a carry over two lakes.

Was a great expierence,we have played alot of Vegas and Mesquite Courses over the years, this one and Wolf Creek in Mesquite are 2 of my favorites..They treated our large group of 20 players like Gold,Course was in great shape,a true challenge,we have scratch golfers,to mid handicappers,we all enjoyed it.Bring your camera, there are a few holes that are picture worthy..

Day of golf at Spanish Trails was very enjoyable. Tough greens wide fairways on sunrise. Canyon on the other hand was horrible. Every single fairway was dead and virtually unplayable. It was hard and dead. I was bump and running from 150 to 200 yards from green. Management did not even consider letting us play Lakes. Members were sent to lakes while non members were stuck playing canyon. Sunrise was nice though. I'm on the fence of how I feel about this experience. I think what makes me feel like I'm disappointed is when we asked what happen the excuse of that's how we do it in the winter was poor because reviews have said canyon has been in that condition for some time. One more note tees and Greens were pristine and bunkers were well managed.
