The Lakes/Sunrise Course at Spanish Trail Golf Club is one of three courses at the club. Made of two individual nines, Lakes/Sunrise is both scenic and challenging with water coming into play throughout.
Spanish Trail Golf & Country Club offers three individual nines that can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed the 27 holes at the club, incorporating his signature fast, undulating greens. The Lakes/Sunrise Course combines the two most scenic nines. The appropriately named Lakes Course has water coming into play on six of its nine holes. In addition to forced carries over water, five holes have water protecting the greensides. The Sunrise Course has water coming into play on a few holes as well, including its signature ninth hole, which features a beautiful waterfall next to the clubhouse. The golf course is known for its large, undulating greens and open, rolling fairways. Approach shots are critical on the Sunrise Course due to the potential treacherous locations if the ball lands o the wrong side of the hole. The par-3 fifth hole is reputed as the most challenging par 3 at the club.
