Designed by Williams, Gill & Associates, Black Mountain Golf & Country Club's Desert nine opened in 2002. It is a true desert layout that will test golfers' accuracy, course management and patience. The par-4 fourth hole plays 380 yards and doglegs hard to the left with desert waste areas down both sides. The Desert course's par-5 finishing hole has more obstacles than you can imagine. On the second shot lay-up, the water on the left creeps farther out into the fairway than you think. Black Mountain's Horizon nine opened in June of 1963. It is more open but challenges with well bunkered greens. Still, this nine holes offers several birdie opportunities and the chance for a player to score well. Golfers can improve their swing at Black Mountain Golf & Country Club's driving range or at the Jeff Symmonds Golf School on site.
