Justin Timberlake, Shriners to host PGA Tour stop at TPC Summerlin
The PGA Tour announced that dreamy pop sensation Justin Timberlake will host the Tour’s annual Las Vegas stop next year.
The event, formally known as the Fry’s Electronics Open, will now be called the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and will be included as part of the PGA Tour’s Fall Series through 2013.
“I couldn’t be more excited,” said Timberlake. “We will make sure to make this event unique and memorable, and we will raise money for charity while participating in the greatest game every played.”
The event will be held October 13-19 at the TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, with an official Pro-Am on Wednesday. The event will be televised on the Golf Channel. As part of his involvement, Timberlake, a six handicap, will play in the Wednesday Pro-Am and host a concert during the tournament week.
“Raising money to better children’s lives while playing golf? I can’t think of a better way to pass the time,” Timberland said.
