In this debut episode of LasVegasGolf.com On The Air, podcast host Dave Berner talks about some of the best golf Las Vegas has to offer.

Troy Anderson, director of sales and marketing at Siena Golf Club and Arroyo Golf Club at Red Rock Country Club joins Berner on the podcast, and talks about the two popular Las Vegas golf courses.

“Siena is designed by Schmidt/Curley out of Arizona and it’s more of your target desert golf course,” said Anderson. “But at the same time for those that are risk-reward type players it tempts you to try things you really shouldn’t try to do - we have about 97 sand traps here at Siena.”

Just down the road from Siena is Arroyo Golf Club, an Arnold Palmer Signature Design that shares its facilities with Red Rock Country Club, also a Palmer design.

“This is more like a mountain desert course. Arroyo is actually located inside, or on top of, or within built within the mountains at Red Rock Canyon,” said Anderson. “Arroyo is a high choice for a lot of our golfers who do enjoy a great view and enjoy the mountains. Red Rock Canyon is one of Las Vegas’ most revered landmarks and we’re fortunate to be right next to them.”

Anderson added that this time of year is a high point for Las Vegas golf, and that there’s an added benefit of playing Siena and Arroyo - The Charity Hole-in One System. Groups or even singles can ante up to shoot for a hole in one, with an ace taking home $10,000 or a one-year lease on a BMW. Plus, the hole-in-one contest Children’s Miracle Network of Southern Nevada

Also, Marketing Director Brad Church of TPC Las Vegas (formerly known as TPC Canyons) talks to Berner about the challenges, scenery and customer service of their course.

“We just changed our name to TPC Las Vegas in September, one of the things that’s very unique about our club is the way it’s drawn out, especially on the back nine involving the canyons and arroyos on the property, which makes it quite unique and some of the views from our tee boxes and forced carries really challenge our players.”

Church adds that PGA Tour players such as Dean Wilson and Bob May make TPC Las Vegas their off-season home due to the impressive practice facilities.
